The HHRS management team is headed by Mr. Rudolph (Randy) DePolo. Randy is a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore, and brings 15+ years of horse racing management experience to the team. We are a very much a hands-on group and our primary dedication is for the partner's enjoyment of the thoroughbred experience.

Randy was recently re-elected to serve as Board Member and Treasurer for the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association of New Jersey. It is his second term on the board after previously serving as treasurer from 2004 - 2006. His vast experience with state and national issues provide keen insight in his role with Headless Horsemen Racing.

HHRS has been involved in racing partnerships for years with both large and small groups in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. For those of you who are searching for racing partnership opportunities, you have likely encountered bigger names with larger stables of horses. What you have not encountered is the feeling of camaraderie and true partnership which is part of the HHRS experience. If you want to get into this business without breaking the bank, learn about racing, and enjoy the benefits of being part of a real team, please contact us by sending us an e-mail.

The farm...

Headless Horsemen's broodmares and foals spend their formative years at Bright View Farm located in historic Chesterfield Township, Burlington County, New Jersey.

Bright View, a 270 acre farm with gently rolling fields and pastures, was acquired in 1975 by the Connelly family and is now owned and operated by Christine Connelly. She is assisted in the day to day operations by Dee Stillwagon , the broodmare manager, and a capable staff, which coordinate the foaling, breeding, care and development of our babies through their yearling year.

The racing performance of our horses who have been foaled and raised at Bright View speaks volumes about their ability to do things right. The daily handling and the appropriate amount of discipline given to the young horses effectively prepares them for their next stage of development. In fact, any of the farms receiving our horses from Bright View are lavish in their praise about the yearlings demeanor and readiness for training to be a race horse.

Among the racing notables who began their careers at Bright View Farm are stakes performers Bill Wheeler, Wistful, Just Smashing, Allenmande, Luminaire, Spellbinder, Santaria and now our own Karmageddon.

We could not be happier with our friends at Bright View Farm.

Our trainer...

Headless Horsemen prides itself on partnering with like minded individuals, who not only have the same drive and desire to win but also ensure our equine athletes have the best care possible. This is why Doug Nunn, who personifies these values, is training the horses for our racing stable.

Doug brings 20+ years of horsemanship to our team. His early days were spent riding and exercising horses on the backstretch of Finger Lakes. Eventually after getting too heavy to follow his quest to be a jockey, Doug turned his attention to conditioning and training in 1992. He has worked with the likes of Hall of Fame inductee William Strange as well as current trainers,Tim Hills, Jane Cibelli, Peter Walder and Bruce Levine to name a few. Doug has trained a number of successful horses including Maryland Million Day winner Hunca Munca.

Doug is a tremendous asset to HHRS.Unlike many other trainers, Doug personally gets on the back of every horse he trains. Because of his hands-on approach, he is able to identify and correct many issues other trainers just plain miss. We feel nobody knows their horses better than Doug Nunn. And then there is his drive and personality...he likes to win!!
